I’m reading reviews of off-brand maxtrax style recovery boards and this review kills me. Imagine being that UPS driver, delivering a package to some guy at the end of this muddy clay road and of course you fucking get stuck and you think “well, my day just went to shit” but then the guy you just made the delivery to busts the package open and pulls out a set of recovery boards and gets you unstuck in one shot, can you even imagine
in case anyone needs to hear this after ffxiv took home 2 more awards and is currently the first thing you see when you open the Steam recap page for the game awards along with a big flashy “Buy Now” with a seemingly cheap $19.99 price tag…
DON’T DO IT.
steam will charge you out the wazoo and deny you the famous free trial (which really genuinely is that good), so DON’T let steam trick you out of unlimited play time up to level 60 and the award winning expac heavensward!!! instead go here:
and follow their instructions to get yourself set up with their own game client. i cannot stress enough, doing it this way gives you FREE play time until you finish heavensward which is hours upon hours of content.
I cannot stress how true this is, it took my partner and me like a solid couple months to get through Heavensward with daily play sessions. Squeeze every bit of free play out of the trial first before you upgrade, because once you do, you can’t go back to playing free
Btw, if you do prefer to play games through Steam, the free trial is on there too! Here’s the link to it, choose “install demo”. I personally think installing it through the Squeenix site is easier, a few of my friends have had trouble getting the Steam version to cooperate, but in case you really like having an organized library or something it’s also an option
